Laura Stagno

From the mountains of Mérida, I went to Caracas to study Art at the Instituto de Artes Plásticas Armando Reverón, where I learned to express myself with as much freedom as possible through drawings, graphics, collage and painting. There I developed a particular language combining various techniques. And I discovered my passion for the creation of fantasy characters, that, to my surprise, acquired lives of their own. They guided me towards the magic world of illustrating for children and the complex universe of animation, and I ended up crossing skies and oceans. I was in Japan, living in a world where everything is reversed and imagination walks alongside reality, overflowing everything with color. But, in spite all that surrounds me, my Old Scissors and my crayons will continue to be my inspiration for creating things that don’t yet exist, not even in my dreams.
