Camelia’s editorial line is irregular, winding, sometimes entangled, but hardly ever straight. It was drawn by a printer, Javier Aizpúrua, and a graphic designer, MaríaAngélicaBarreto. They both enjoy publishing books on unique supports: from a simple paper napkin to a cyber-photo blog. As behooves a non-linear publishing house, its books are for undetermined ages, making it almost impossible for its catalogue to grow in collections, although it does grow organically. It has attracted creators, philosophers, musicians, artists, advertising agents who never thought were going to be part of a children’s book. Perhaps one day, Camelia will become a rhizome. It also appeals to distracted readers who feel identified with the logo that appears in each book. Álvaro Sotillo, its creator, says that it’s a symbol that means that each one of us, disregarding age, have a child inside ourselves.
